Why did my hair stop growing?

Thinning or balding hair may happen after the hair stops growing or falls out. The leading causes of hair loss are:

Age

Your hair growth naturally slows as you age. More follicles go into a resting phase, and the remaining hair gets thinner and more sparse.

Alopecia

Androgenic alopecia causes men and women to lose hair earlier in life than average. Alopecia areata causes large sections of hair to fall out. Sometimes it grows back, but some people eventually lose all their hair. Alopecia universalis is a rare condition that causes the hair on the entire body to fall out.

Trichotillomania

This psychological disorder causes people to pull out their hair.

Hormones

Pregnancy hormones help women develop a lush mane of hair during pregnancy and hair loss after pregnancy when the hormone levels drop. Abnormal male androgen levels may also influence hair loss.

Additional factors such as stress, chemotherapy drugs, thyroid disorders, and scarring can also lead to hair loss.

Why did my hair stop growing?

Theradome laser treatment consists of a helmet with built-in lasers that stimulates hair growth, slows hair loss, and increases follicle size. The lasers penetrate hair follicles and send out a precise wavelength of light that’s optimal for hair growth.

Two 20-minute treatments per week with the helmet help reverse male and female pattern baldness. After 26-52 weeks of continual use, you should notice regrowth. Before 26 weeks, the system decreases hair loss and enlarges the follicles.

The cordless, unintrusive design allows you to multitask while you’re wearing the helmet. The procedure is a safe, painless, and cost-effective alternative to transplants.

How does platelet-rich plasma help with hair growth?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) uses your own plasma in concentrated form. A hair restoration expert at Advanced Rejuvenation Centers takes your blood, separates the plasma from it, and injects the plasma under your scalp to promote healing and hair growth.

Because it takes time for the scalp to heal and for hair to grow, it may take several weeks for you to see noticeable results. Preliminary studies show PRP is a safe, effective, and more affordable solution for thinning hair.

If you’re bothered by thinning hair, make an appointment online or by phone to see one of the hair restoration experts at Advanced Rejuvenation Centers.
